On Peter’s Mind – Your True Capital: Time, Money, and Hope

In business—and in life—we all operate with three forms of capital: time, money, and hope. And if we’re honest, we waste all three more than we should.

Time is the most unforgiving. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. Every hour spent on the wrong client, the wrong deal, or the wrong activity is an hour you’ll never get back. Take a hard look at your calendar. Double down on what produces results—and eliminate what doesn’t. Every “yes” has a cost.

Money is stored energy. It should be deployed with purpose. Too often, we spend without strategy—on things that don’t build, don’t compound, and don’t move the needle. Before you spend, ask yourself: does this create value? If not, don’t do it. Invest in what grows your business and sharpens your edge.

And then there’s hope. The most overlooked—and most powerful—asset we have. Hope fuels persistence, belief, and momentum. But it must be protected. Place it in the right people, the right opportunities, and the right vision.

Protect your capital. Time. Money. Hope.
Invest wisely—because you don’t get them back.
